Making a Minyan, October 10 & 24

October 10 & 24, 7PM
MINYAN MAKER is an generations-old Jewish expression, referring to the tenth person to show up to a service enabling the group to do a complete service.  Technically, each attendee, first or last is a minyan maker.
This workshop has two sessions.
Session #1 is a playful and informative introduction to the deep structure, forms and functions of a traditional Jewish prayer service.
Session #2 is a practical workshop where we collectively “make a minyan,” create a “service” together and experiment with different “offerings” for a wide array of occasions from a simple shabbat to a shiva minyan in a house of mourning.
