Beth Evergreen will host a very special Holocaust Remembrance through music and dance at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15 at the synagogue. Performers will include members of the Evergreen Chorale’s Altezza Chamber Chorale and Kevin Gael Thomas with the Thomas Dance Project. (Dancers courtesy of the Colorado Ballet.)
A native of France, Thomas was a student of the French Conservatory of Music and the renowned Rosella Hightower's International Ballet School. In 2004 Canada's National Ballet School invited him to pursue his training as a full-scholarship student. Upon graduating with honors in 2006, Thomas became a performer with the Houston Ballet II and the next season joined the Colorado Ballet. In addition to performing, Thomas has been teaching and choreographing in Europe and the United States.
The Evergreen Chorale, founded in 1972 and now more than 100 members strong, produces choral concerts and musical theater under the direction of Christine Gaudreau. Altezza is the Chorale’s chamber group. Director Gaudreau holds degrees in voice performance, music education and music history, and a master’s degree in conducting. The Chorale’s 2017 production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” received five BroadwayWorld Denver Awards, and its 2016 production of “My Fair Lady” received eight BroadwayWorld Denver Awards. In both years, Gaudreau was named best director of a musical.
Tickets for the event are $5 for Beth Evergreen members and $10 for guests.
