Tu B’Av is both an ancient and modern Jewish day of joy that served as a matchmaking day for unmarried women in the Second Temple period. In its modern incarnation, it’s the Hebrew-Jewish Day of Love, slightly resembling Valentine’s Day. Tu B’Av is a day for love, whether romantic, parental or between friends.
