Dear Friends,
Over the past few months, we have had several opportunities to help CBEers recovering from illness or surgery. I have come to learn that signing up to take a congregant a meal is like trying to get concert tickets at Red Rocks. If you do not go to the “take a meal” form or signup genius within minutes of receiving the email, all slots are filled! While not getting a ticket directly from Red Rocks is very frustrating, not finding a slot to take a meal holds an entirely different meaning. It is indicative of just how generous, kind, compassionate and caring our CBE community is. It is such a blessing to be part of this community!
News surrounding the Covid virus seems to change as quickly as our CBE “take them a meal” form gets filled. There is still much confusion and trepidation.
That said, the staff and leadership at CBE are hard at work to ensure that our community continues to be a stable and reliable place of connection for you and your family.
Despite the challenges presented by Covid, we continue to hold services, religious school classes, and family life cycle events both in person with appropriate precautions and on zoom. It is our intention to continue to provide robust programming to enrich your intellect, keep you connected to our community and feed your Jewish soul.
There is much planned for the first part of 2022. Please be sure to read the weekly news blast that Elizabeth sends out each Monday for more details. Exciting adult education is in the works – thanks to the leadership of Jay Kramer. A spring party is in the works – thanks to the leadership of Eve Mills and Amy Gendler. How about a November bike trip through Israel? Hopefully. If Covid lightens up. Be on the lookout for information about this from Beth and Jonathan Miller – they are our CBE organizers for this adventure.
As details unfold, for these and so many other happenings, we will share them with you, so you can put them on your calendar. We will continue to bring you ways to connect with your community in whatever way feels most comfortable for you.
I wish you and yours a happy and healthy 2022 and we look forward to seeing your smiling face soon!
l’shalom,
Laurie
